RANGER IGBT CONTROLLER

FEATURES OF THE LOCOMOTION IGBT RANGER CONTROLLER (2.5 Ton, 6 Ton & 10 Ton)

Shemax Locomotion’s IGBT Controller is used for DC Series Wound motors normally employed in underground battery powered locomotives.
IGBT controllers are designed for simplicity of operation, yet incorporate sophisticated safety features and protection for the motor.
The controller is SANS 1809 Compliant. The compliance to the SANS 1809 specification is verified by a government approved authority.
The IGBT controller range of controllers come in either of the following standards, 2,5 Ton Controller, 5 or 6 Ton Controller and 10 Ton Controller. The respective operating voltages are 40 – 48 vdc, 84 vdc and 120vdc.

OIL COOLED BATTERY CHARGERS

Basic Description of Operation (20 Cell, 42 Cell & 60Cell).

• Shemax Locomotion’s oil cool charger is a reliable robust transductor based unit. The transductor is a magnetic device, which consists of A.C and D.C windings. A small current in the D.C. windings will control a much larger A.C. current and for this reason it is also known as a magnetic amplifier.

• The charger uses the charge watch controller and once the charger has

been matched to the battery, the charge watch will charge the battery connected
correctly according to its needs.

• The chargers come in 20 cell, 42 cell, 60 cell packages. The unique advantage of the 42 cell charger is that it can also charge 60 cell batteries. The 60 cell charger can also charge 42 cell batteries.

• Shemax Locomotion’s range of cap lamp chargers are custom made to suit consumer needs. Our range of cap lamp chargers starts from 10 way, 20 way 30 way, 45 way and 60 way cap lamp charger. We also design chargers as per customer needs. Our chargers are designed to charge any cap lamp that is in the market. The charger is a simple, easy to maintain unit suitable for any lamp room in the mining industry. The unit is simple yet robust, light weight and portable. It also has two status led lights.

BRAKING RESISTOR GRIDS

Shemax Locomotion prides itself in manufacturing locomotive braking resistor grids for various locomotives. We have standard 10 Ton, 5 Ton and 2,5 Ton braking resistor grids. Over and above the standard grids, we also have custom made braking resistors to suit specific customer requirements. Our resistor grids are manufactured from quality material hence they are robust and can withstand harsh mining environments.

RANGER PROGRAMMER / DOWNLOADER

The Shemax Locomotion handheld unit is designed to troubleshoot and set operating parameters of all our Ranger Controllers. The unit interacts with the Ranger and retrieves crucial information like previous errors and recent events. The unit is portable light in weight and definitely a must have.
